Summary: My essay is criticizing an article about race and friendships and how they change over time. How people change over time when race becames a larger issue and the students aren't five anymore.
"Growing Up, Growing Apart"

The article "Growing Up Growing Apart" focuses on individual stories of racial conflict, race relationships and friendships and how the seeds of racisms starts and escalates. Three teenage girlfriends are interviewed who are experiencing difficulties in their friendship which they feel are race related. Aqeelan Mateen, Kelly Regan, and Johanna Perez Fox were friends all through middle school. They are now in high school and feel more tension between themselves and fellow classmates.

The three girls began their friendship in their early school years. They had the same interest and enjoyed each other companies. Their friendship was very regular for their age. Young friends have a large diverse group of friends and form their friendships from shared interest and taste. The girls had very different ethnic backgrounds.
