Alexander Hamilton was a great man who achieved many great and wondrous things. He was born on January 11, 1757 in the British West Indies, although other sources say 1755. He died on July 12, 1804, after a duel with Aaron Burr. Many things happened to him that made him the man that he became. He had a rough childhood, yet he seemed to be more of a loving father than his own was. His father abandoned him at the age of 9 and his mother died of a fever, when he was only 13.
He and his family moved to St. Croix in 1765, when Alexander was about 8 years old. Around 1772, he abandoned the Caribbean and headed for mainland and the following year, attended King's College.
