The Mystery at the Ball Park by Gertrude Warner is a book about the Boxcar kids. It was written in around 1930. Henry, Jessie, Violet and Benny Alden are orphans who used to live alone in a boxcar. That's how they got the name Boxcar kids. Now they are living with their grandfather in Greenville. Henry is 14 and he is the older brother. He's always happy, he's smart and he always tries to help anybody in trouble. Violet is 10 years old and she's very nice. She has long brown hair and she's very shy. Jesse has blonde hair and she's 12 years old. She is good at anything she tries to do. Benny is 6. He's a really friendly kid and he's always hungry.
