THE EFFECTS OF ROCK MUSIC

If music is to the mind what air is to the body, as Plato said, then much of America is suffocating on the pollution of rock and roll. Since the dawn of such groups as the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, American young people have been obsessing over a form of communication that only harms the body, mind, and spirit. At concerts, in which hundreds to thousands of adolescents congregate together to support the bands that they adore, (6eleven teenagers were trampled to death in a fit of rage and violence, Pyle). It is obvious that such instances of violence are not uncommon. Because of the danger of some of the larger concerts, as many as 120 doctors stay on call to help those who have acquired injuries because of being overcrowded, overdosing on illegal drugs, or being assaulted by another fan (7, Pyle).
