Heroic Traits
In about every story there are a few heroes and many enemies. In the story "The Adventures of Ulysses" by Bernard Evslin, the readers are given many heroic traits Ulysses acquires. Through self-control, courage, and leadership the author expresses Ulysses' importance as a hero. Strength of mind or control comes to mind easily after readying Ulysses.
First of all, Ulysses begins his journey from Troy over seas. Encountering many problems he still controls himself to do what he believed to be right or for the best. Off the shore if Libya, Ulysses' and his men stopped on an island. Plants of poison lotus where found and eaten making them dream unbelievable dreams but after time Ulysses refused the plant. "So Morpheus mixed no colors for Ulysses,"(13) helps prove that Ulysses had the trait of self-control. Easily, Ulysses could have eaten, as many Lotuses as he wanted...
