Online Stereotypes of Aboriginal People
Summary: This essay deals with the online stereotypes of Aboriginal people.
They do not educate themselves, find jobs, build careers, stick to them, build equity and pay for things like every other Canadian does in our society. They have unimaginable rates of addiction and birth rates. We see them as individuals or in groups staggering down the streets, drinking from bottles in brown paper bags. These are only a few of the racist views and stereotypes that the Aboriginal people of Canada must face each day. They are portrayed on the media, talked about in coffee shops and printed on the Internet. The authors and believers in these stereotypes must do some research before voicing their opinion. Aboriginal people have had a life full of struggles, and are kept from succeeding in society by the stereotypes they are thought to be.
