King Arthur has always been known as the strong, wise leader. Everyone believes that through all the chaos with Lancelot and Guenever, he's the one that could pull everything together and make peace. That in fact is completely false. He is not as great as a leader as everyone thinks. He allowed himself to be dominated by Mordred. He allowed the affair between Lancelot and Guenever to go on behind people's backs. Even when Lancelot and Guenever's affair was discovered, he still handled the case poorly which eventually broke down his kingdom. There certainly are many extraordinary traits Arthur hold, but when the book is read without really paying attention to detail, all the imperfections Arthur holds become invisible
