A quilt to some people is just a bunch of colorful scraps, but to me it represents a very special time in my life. I guess I never realized this until my grandmother passed away last year. While I was growing up my grandma was always important, but now that she has gone, her memory lives on forever in my quilt.

I was only 12 years old when my grandma gave me a quilt for my birthday. At first, I was very unimpressed! It was just a blanket until I unfolded it and truly saw what it represented. My grandma proceeded to explain everything that was portrayed in the quilt. I listened, and only being twelve I didn't pay much attention...
