Children of the River

It all started when they first met. They didn't know each other very well until they began talking about their lives. Sundara and Jonathan each told their stories of themselves. Sundara's was the one that affected Jonathan more than anything in his life. His perspective on life changed completely. He never knew that so much could happen to one person. The way he thought of wars was now very emotional. The way he thought about people who were starving made him realize that he was extremely lucky to have what he had.

Sundara and Jonathan became friends because of a poem that Sundara wrote for her English class. The poem was about her life in Cambodia. The first time they had actually spoken to one another was when Jonathan came up to Sundara at the farmers market and began talking to her. After that...
