A Closer Look at Reality TV
Summary: Describes the absurdity of today's reality television
Once upon a time television used to be wholesome, when the whole family could
sit down and watch reruns of Leave it to Beaver. Now days, one can flip on the T.V and
an enraged ex-tennis player is the host of a show that tests Americans about their ability
to keep their pulse low, while an alligator is dangling above their heads and fireworks are
blasting in the background. Is America entertained by this absurd behavior, or has reality
T.V gone to far? The Chair, hosted by John Macenroe, is just one example of many
ludicrous shows that America has watched for nearly half a decade.
