Reason to Dissent
If someone or something is hurting because of a law that is legally and lawfully passed, should people stand by and let that law run its course and cause immeasurable damage, or should people stand for what really is right? Laws were created as a way to provide a framework for people's morals and how they should treat other people. Our first instinct is to obey the laws that are given to us by authority- but what if the laws are unjust and unfair? What if the laws are clearly, in black and white, wrong in the mind and conflict strongly with morals? What if the laws are ones that discriminate and mistreat people due to physical, mental, or religious differences? Should people stand by and let horrors such as these occur and not say a single word about it? Who would be the first...
