This present age, not a lot of societies are driven simply by their beliefs, cultural norms, and religion, at least not as much as there are by their ambition and greed; i.e. capitalist America, both past and present, that revolves around making more profit at the end of the day. Not the same thing could be said about the Aztecs of the new world, who based their own entire society on tradition and religion, which if I should add did very little to help them deal or rather survive the Spaniard intrusion of the 1500s. That is beside the point; the real question should be how come a simple group of Spaniards were able to conquer the Aztec empire, along with the rest of the Amerindians?
