The Industrial Revolution
The Industrial Revolution had a profound effect on all levels of society in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. How people lived and worked changed significantly during this time. I believe that the industrial revolution generally helped life; however, it also had its bad affects. For example, due to increase of machines and factories, carbon monoxide levels rose dramatically, and working conditions worsened.
Before the industrial revolution most people would buy materials and take them back to their houses and create the product, better known as the cottage industry. With this type of work the employee and boss were generally well-acquainted: when the industrial revolution came around and people began working in factories the employee/boss relationship would be slim to none.
