The Causes of the Civil War
The South and North fought the Civil War for their individual reasons. Many of these reasons had taken place way before the first shot at Fort Sumter was ever fired. The Northern states declared that the main cause of the civil war was to keep the country together. The Southern states declared that the main cause of the war was over the States rights. This paper is going to cover the beginning actions that brought about the most tragic and devastating war that this wonderful country has ever had to fight.
