Stem- Cell Research
Summary: This essay deals with the ethical question of embryonic stem-cells research. It is a persuasive essay and opposing the use of human embryonic stem-cells for experimental purposes.
The Congress has stated that no funds should be used for research on embryonic stem cells, but now, scientists think that the multipotent adult stem cells, which are already in use for several experiments, do not have the same potential as the pluripotent embryonic cells. Not only is the origin of the cells a problem, it is also a question of ethics. Human embryonic stem cells should not be taken for experimental purposes.
Adult stem cells are capable of forming tissue and organs: embryonic stem cells do this much better. Most people believe that adult stem cells do not have the same capacity as embryonic stem cells, because they cannot raise the necessary cells for fetal development. But studies done with adult stem cells do show the potential to form essentially any tissue. If scientists would be able to raise embryonic cells so that they can replace tissues...
