I am comparing "Dear Mr. Lee" and "Not My Best Side". These two poems have many similarities, but also there are some differences.

Both poems are written in the first person narrative style. In "Dear Mr. Lee" the characters in the poem are the girl writing the letter, the English teacher of the girl that is writing the letter and also the examiner that has marked the exam of the girl writing the letter. The main character is that of the girl. She has read and studied the book that Laurie Lee has written. She has enjoyed the book and now has fallen in love with the book and she now keeps the book close by her at all times.
