Summary: Rigaberta Menchu
Menchu, her village,and her political companeros would resist in many different ways. When the landowners started measuring the communities land, Menchus father would take trips to the capital to sign papers to legally own the land, but the lawyers and interpreters would lie to him about what the papers actually stated. So they decided to organize the community to protect the land and their own life from the landowners and army. They would get their machetes, stones, and anything else they could use as weapons and put them in a place that they could get to easily. They set up traps around the community, and also set look outs to watch for military heading toward the village. They ambushed a soldier, taking his rifles and gernades.
This form of resistance, in my mind is a little violent, but it was successful.  ...
