Summary: During the Renaissance, people had different values of education. People of the 15th century differed in ideas with people of the 17th century.
During the Renaissance, people had different values of education. People of the 15th century differed in ideas with people of the 17th century. People had different views on what education should be used for and what should be learned in schools. The 15th century teachings revolved around the ancient writings, culture of the past, grammar, math, rhetoric and philosophy. In the 16th century, when education began to pick up rapidly, people emphasized the study of penmanship, etiquette, virtue and the vernacular. As time progressed, people had different views on what should be taught in schools and how people should be using their new found knowledge. When the 17th century came around, people began to feel so secure with their selves and because of the skepticism that had developed, people had actually began to contradict the church.
