Summary: The role of endorphins in the body
     Endorphins are morphine-like brain chemicals that are not only responsible for giving a person the sensation of feeling "high" but it actually plays a role in almost every human experience from birth to death, including much that is pleasurable, and painful.

         Endorphin research began in the early 70s when scientist accidentally discovered opiate receptors in the brain. Scientists reasoned that the body must produce come sort of  opiate or morphine like chemicals that plug into these reception. These palliative peptides act just like morphine. Morphine slows the pulse and depresses breathing (heart/lungs), also deadening pain (central/peripheral nervous systems), while disturbing digestion and elimination and is savages the sex drive (reproductive and endocrine systems) triggers euphoria, and receptors were found nearly everywhere researchers looked.
