After the stock market crash of 1929 many brokers were so distraught that they committed suicide. Throughout history economic forces have been some of the most powerful forces guiding mankind. Many events in history, which appear to be about different topics, turn out to have strong economic overtures. One of these events is the American Revolution. On the surface the American Revolution appears to be strictly political in foundation; however, its foundation is in reality based in the economical restrictions that England tried to impose on the colonies. Louis Hacker was correct in his statement about the economical motivations of the revolution because the colonists were in actuality fighting Britain to gain control over where and for how much they sold their goods.
