Analyzing of Walt Whitman Poetry
Summary: This essay talks about Whitman's "Song of Myself" and his relaxed view on life.
The most intriguing and beautiful aspect of Walt Whitman's poetry is his relaxed view on life and his love of nature. Many people consider this facet of his poetry as two separate entities, or maybe slightly linked; but they are one in the same. Whitman does not condemn society, and writes many of his poems celebrating it, but it lacked the serenity that can be found in his writing about nature. A very good example of his writings about nature can be found in "Song of Myself", part ten. The first stanza of this poem deals with just himself and nature on one of his hunting expeditions. Nature and the lack of worldly possessions makes people feel unburdened when they do not have to worry about complicated things like money, relationships, and work.
