The United States Constitution is one of the most important documents in our country's history. This document dictates the beliefs of the nation and defines every citizen's rights, liberties, and justices. Without the Constitution, America would not be the astute country of dreams it is today.

The 1780s proved to be a period of calamity. The colonies had just won their independence and were going through a time of transition. During this time, the colonies fought seeing as they were unable to agree on the new country's government. At that time, the colonies were following the Articles of Confederation. These articles created a central government that had few powers. States became nearly independent of each other, printing their own money and regulating trade. This caused a great inflation.
