Summary: This essay shows how Pip changes in Book II.
Pip's personality and values changed once Pip received his financial backing. Pip shows one change in his views on his benefactor. To illustrate, Pip changed is in accumulation of his material possessions. Once Pip received his expectations he bought a suit, hat, boots, and other things. And when Pip got to London, he bought a desk. Also, Pip rented two rooms, one with Herbert, and the other with Mr. Pocket. Moreover, after he has been at Mr. Pocket's house he wanted to take up rowing so he had to hire an instructor and buy a boat, which, of course, cost a fortune. Secondly, Pip changed his view of his benefactor. To illustrate, before Pip actually knew that his benefactor was Magwitch, he was using circumstantial evidence that his benefactor was Miss Havisham.
