The terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, were the most inhumane events to ever take place on American soil. The thought of two 747 commercial jet-liners crashing into New York's Twin Towers, and another one crashing into D.C.'s Pentagon, would have never crossed the minds of Americans. That's why when something as terrible as that finally happened to us, we were shocked. We didn't expect anything like that to happen to America. We were use to the cocky, impenetrable, American way of life. We were the most secured nation in the world ---- so we thought ---- until 9/11 that is.
