Mistake of Gettysburg
Summary: Essay discusses some of the events that took place regarding the early colonists in America.
The United States of America was founded by the Puritans and was built by the colonials. Although these two groups of people lived, farmed, fought and died on the same soil, they still lived two totally different lifestyles. But among these two very different groups are still some very similar grounds.
When the Puritans faced prosecution from the King of England for practicing a different religion, they decided to take drastic measures. They packed away al their belongings and took their family onto a ship for a long perilous journey. Along the way across the Atlantic Ocean, the Puritans encountered many difficulties. They faced sickness, disease, starvation, and death. The trip was so life threatening and dangerous, John Smith wrote this in What Happened Till the First Supply:
"Being thus left to our fortunes, it happened that within, scarce ten among us could either go or well stand...
