Summary: In this essay I will explain the troubling and tormenting problems Mary queen of Scots faced, and also how she managed to become queen of France and Scotland.


In Scotland in 1542 King James V died and left his daughter Mary the throne. As Mary was only 1 week old her mother had to act as a regent and rule the country for her. In this time Scotland and England were separate in countries and Mary's uncle Henry VIII wanted to rule both Scotland and England so he arranged for Edward (his son) and Mary to get married.

Further on Henry died, however the English still sent tropes to accept the marriage arrangement. Mary's mother had to act fast and decided that the best thing for Mary was to take her to a French royal court in France. In which she learned to sew, to dance, play instruments and more.

In 1558 Mary married the Dauphin, the eldest son of the king of France (Francis). A year later the king died and Mary became queen of France. Everyone though...
