Summary: Essay provides a comparison of the film and text of "Antigone."
The film portrays Antigone differently from how the author wrote about her in the text. The director of the film made Antigone exaggerate a lot more. Antigone yelled more to express her feelings to the audience, her suffering of not having the proper burial for her brother, Polyneices. Some other characters, such as Creon, the king, appear to be scarier in the film than in the book. The reason why the characters become so alive in the film is because of the tone and their physical appearance. As the audience we physically see and hear and soon feel what the character goes through. For example, if a bad guy smiles while he is yelling at a person, the audience knows that the bad guy is up to something good, but in the textbooks, the audience does not know until they read it.
