Egypt and its Effect on the United States
Egypt is not very well positioned for the future because of its decline in economy and unstable government, and not only all of this, but also, the lack of action from President Mubarak on opposing the war will start internal uprisings. With all this said, Egypt will struggle in the next few years in the new reality of the Middle East.
The Egyptian government is a basic republic that has 3 branches. The executive branch is led by a chief of state, or more commonly known as the president, followed by a head of government, the prim minister, and then a cabinet which is elected by the President. The current President, Hosni Mubarak, has had this position since 1981. He has worked for peace and has been awarded many decorations including the "man of peace."
