Summary: This is a written critique of J.D. Hillberry and Craig Carlson's art styles.
I. METHOD

Craig and J.D. both use penciled techniques, ranging from a wide variety of texture, depth and balance. They both use different medias, including different pencils and paper to better accentuate their subjects and their surroundings. Both of the artists have a sense of calmness and tranquility that can be moreover seen or felt when looking at the work. J.D. usually has something behind the drawing such as mystery or curiosity but still keeping in balance. With Craig's, you see just what's there since he draws for the most part animal subjects and unless their in some situation, won`t carry the mystery that J.D.'s contain.

II. APPROACH

They both approach their subjects at different angles. Craig starts foreground to background, left to right. Possibly to avoid smearing what he has finished. The majority of Craig's works are wildlife while J.D. has...
