Summary: Essay discusses the controversial issue of abortion.
There is much debate and controversy surrounding the issue of abortion. Abortion is defined as "an operation or other procedure to terminate pregnancy before the fetus is viable", according to The Collins English Dictionary @ 200 Harper Collins Publishers. Despite adamant arguments to the contrary, it is my belief that abortion in the first trimester (the first two months after conception), is acceptable.

While many may view this from a religious or ethical aspect, the law must come first and foremost in this matter. According to information gathered on the Abortion Law Homepage, in the 1973 Roe vs. Wade case, the U.S Supreme Court ruled that the 14th amendment in the United States Constitution provided fundamental rights for women to obtain abortions.
