Legalizing euthanasia or not is, in many industrialized countries, a burning issue and a much debated problem. First, it is relevant to have an overall understanding of the matter, and the stakes. The word euthanasia takes its roots in the ancient Greek, and can be traduced verbatim as "good death", or "happy death." This expression has been used officially for the very first time by the Nazi scientists, during the 2nd World War: behind the "Euthanasia program" lies the murder of over 300 000 human beings. Nowadays, some physicians call on euthanasia to relief the pain of terminally ill patients, by hastening their death trough specialized medicines or withdrawing treatments. This immediately emphasizes how easily words can be strolled and ideals wiped off. And this also proves how critical is the decision to make a law with something that has been considered as immoral over the centuries, dealing with life...
