Are Guns Really the Problem?
Summary: Essay provides a discussion of the controversial issue of gun control. Also discusses if guns are the actual problem.
Guns some think of this as a scary word while others find safety in it. It seems silly that this one word can derive two very different feelings. The fact is, however, that the government is attempting to ban handguns do to the overwhelming "scary" feeling of the public. But is the fear truly justified? In my opinion it is not. People need to be afraid of the criminals committing the crimes in this country, not the guns. The guns are not committing crime, the people are. Instead of "attempting to control crime by restricting the law-abiding"(LaPierre 254), responsible gun owners, something needs to be done to directly control the crime problem.
The gun problem is a myth invented by groups such as Hand Gun Control Inc. who oust the Founding Fathers and see the Constitution as nothing more than a piece of old paper. I hate it...
