The Band, Australia's greatest ever rock quartet originated in the tough, working class suburbs of Elizabeth, about twenty kilometers north of Adelaide. Elizabeth in the sixties was a place where a large number of Australia's influx of World War Two migrates seemed to finish up. They were so many different nationalities and minority groups in the area; it was probably the most multi-cultural region in the world.
