Criticism Reflection
Summary: Essay looks at the different methods of criticism when judging literature.
After learning about the type of criticism I choose, it was interesting learning about some of the similarities and differences of the other kinds of criticisms. There were many interesting ideas and theories behind the time period and style of analyzing different pieces of literature. I learned more about feminism in their way of thinking and looking at pieces through the fact of what women's role in society really was during the era of the literature being analyzed. I also saw how the theories behind feminism had an essential focus, which blended in with the psychoanalytical focus on critiquing literature.
The criticism that intrigued me the most was the psychoanalytic theory. I felt this way because it dealt with the writer's psyche, which isn't always the simplest idea to grasp from a piece of literature. The reader first has to find out the author's psyche, and then analyze...
