Life and Beings Will Be Touched by the End of the World

In "A Song on the End of the World" by Czeslaw Milosz, it talks about the day when the world ends. The question that lingers while reading the poem is will the world really end? If it is than, why are the people going about their normal routines not worried about it? Many people thought the world would end in some big event, however they seem to be unbothered by the thought and went on as usual in their daily lives. "And those who expected lightning and thunder are disappointed. And those who expected signs and archangel's trumps do no believe it is happening now. As long as the sun and the moon are above, as long as rosy infants are born, no one believes it is happening now."
