Summary: Essay discusses the short story of "Give It Up" by Franz Kafka.
The short story "Give It Up," penned by Franz Kafka, gives a view of living in society that only Kafka can to intricately display. Kafka gives his own flair on neo existentialism in his dark pessimistic view of life in a bureaucratic state of rule. In the story, the police officer represents the mainstream society that has overtaken the society as a whole. On the other hand the lost man requesting help is a representation of person who took a different individual path in their life. This work talks of how life is a dark harsh place when the illusion of a perfect society is taken away.
