The Treatment of Women in the 1500's

Summary: Essay explains how women were treated during the days of William Shakespeare.
Women in Shakespeare's day were treated like the gum on the bottom of my shoes. The women couldn't do much of anything but cook and clean for their husbands. The women where also spoken to and commanded like they were common dogs. Also the women of Shakespeare's day did not get to choose who they married. Overall women where treated horrible compared to today's time.

In Shakespeare's day women usually stayed at home and cooked and cleaned and not much more then that. Everyday the men would go do their job and the women would get up and work on getting the house cleaned and cooking dinner for there husbands. I would say that the women had the worst job between them and their husband. Cleaning and cooking to me is more tiring then doing whatever the men did back in Shakespeare's day.
