Technology in the World
Summary: This essay explains the way technology has shaped the human civilization.
In the 20th century, mankind has made some marvelous discoveries. Our minds have expanded (not literally, but in the theoretical sense). We have made leaps and bounds in invention. All of which can be grouped into one category, technology. If I tried to entail all technologies that were important to me, this paper would never end.
So what exactly is a computer? The Webster's Dictionary states it as such: a device that computes, especially a programmable electronic machine that performs high-speed mathematical or logical operations or that assembles, stores, correlates, or otherwise processes information. In other words it serves the same function as a brain only it is external. It also may be used for entertainment purposes, such as games.
