Looking at the past two decades there has been many changes to the work environment. Issues that have contributed to the changes in the working environment have played a major role. A comparison between the ways issues where dealt in today's society with several decades ago will be discussed in detail.

The unemployment rate and the youth unemployment rate generally have risen dramatically. The factors that have contributed to this are the introduction of advanced machinery and equipment. The new advanced technology has created less job opportunities. Many jobs have been replaced with more effective and productive machinery that is less time consuming. Equipment used for the production of goods and services now require less labour. Several decades ago technology wasn't as advanced and employment opportunities were good. Computerization has changed old labour intensive manual systems greatly, by improving the efficiency of the workers.
