What happens to most idealistic young artists who attempt to set up theatres around the United States is that they begin by producing Yeats's A Full Moon in March and end up by finding themselves obliged to present F. Hugh Herbert's The Moon is Blue. It is therefore a heartening surprise to discover that the San Francisco Actor's Workshop, now in its tenth year of operation, is offering a repertory of plays by Genet, Beckett, O'Neill, Albee, Shakespeare, Shaw, and Pinter. Particularly surprising is the last named, for Harold Pinter is a new English playwright not generally known elsewhere in this country.
