Fortunately, Eldredge--a fierce competitor--decided to prove that he was not finished at the age of 21. With renewed determination, he returned in 1996 to give the greatest performance of his life. Despite a disappointing performance at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, Eldredge remains one of the greatest male figure skaters in American history.
