Steve "Air" McNair has had to overcome doubters his entire football career. After turning in outstanding performances as a high school quarterback, most major college coaches only wanted him to come to their schools if he agreed to play in the defensive backfield. Then, after four record-breaking seasons leading the Alcorn State University Braves, National Football League (NFL) scouts doubted McNair's ability to lead complicated professional offenses because he played for a small college team.
