USA Today movie critic Susan Wloszczyna has described Bobby and Peter Farrelly as being "best known as sewer dwellers, Ed Norton class, who dragged gross-out humor to new earthworm-level depths in Dumb and Dumber and Kingpin." Oddly enough, Wloszczyna went on to give the Farrelly's 1998 comedy film There's Something About Mary a lofty rating of three-and-a-half out of a possible four stars. That kind of mixed reaction has become common for the brothers' films. The pair have done everything in their brief Hollywood careers, working as writers, directors, and producers.
