Max Allan Collins has often been called a Renaissance man of mystery, and for good reasons. The author of over one hundred works, Collins's oeuvre includes novels, short stories, nonfiction books, graphic novels and comic books and strips, novelizations and media tie-ins, screenplays, and edited works, most of which deal with crime in one manifestation or another. Add to these accomplishments directing credits on four independent films and membership in two rock 'n' roll bands, and you have one very busy man.
