Lea Hernandez is the creator of the popular Rumble Girls comic series. Set in the future, the series tells of a group of girls who wear body armor called HardSkin and, in a combination of roller derby and professional wrestling, battle among themselves in front of a large audience. The problems of transitory fame, the fear of failure, and the machinations of faceless media corporations are the subjects found in the Rumble Girls stories. Hernandez has also written graphic novels, including the award-winning Cathedral Child.
