Dictionary of Literary Biography on Kjartan Flogstad
Between 1968 and 2003 Kjartan Fløgstad published more than thirty books, including collections of poetry, short stories, and essays; novels; a play; a biography; a company history; the story of Norwegian immigration to South America; travel books; poetry translations; and anthologies. His writings exhibit a detailed knowledge of a wide range of subjects, especially literature and social history. They also reveal him to be a radical leftist and a passionate supporter of the Nynorsk movement, which endorses the more expressive minority Nynorsk form of Norwegian over Bokmål.
