Kirby Puckett was living proof that one didn't have to be tall and thin to be a baseball superstar. For over a decade the five-feet-nine-inch tall Puckett was both a star hitter and fielder for the Minnesota Twins and helped his team win two World Series titles (1987 and 1991). One of the best all-around players in major league baseball, his career came to a screaching halt in 1996 when glaucoma caused him to lose sight in his right eye. Showing the same determination he did on the field, Puckett has found ways to stay involved in the game he loves.
