With his three brothers, Jack Warner (1892-1978) founded Warner Brothers movie studio, one of Hollywood's premiere forces during the studio era. Warner was also an influential movie producer, responsible for 5,000 films over the course of his career.

Born on August 2, 1892, in London, Ontario, Canada, Warner was the ninth of twelve children born to Benjamin and Pearl Leah Eichelbaum, and the youngest son of the seven children to survive into adulthood. Warner's parents were Jewish immigrants from Poland. Warner's father worked as a butcher, cobbler, and peddler to support his family. When Warner was two years old, the family moved to Youngstown, Ohio. In 1907, the family name was changed to "Warner." Jack Warner only had a fourth grade education and was a poor student while in school. This left him with life-long feelings of inferiority.
