Garry Kilworth came to professional writing relatively late in life, in his thirties, even though he wrote his first book, an unpublished story for younger readers, when he was twenty. But he has since made up for lost time with a prolific output of stories and novels covering a wide array of genres and types, from science fiction, fantasy, and horror to books for children and young adults. He has done so under his own name and using a handful of pseudonyms. Along the way he has gained a reputation as a solid writer of interesting stories, both fantastic and realistic. Although he initially gained a reputation as a science-fiction writer, it would be more accurate to call Kilworth a fantasist, given his fascination with mythologies, both traditional and invented.
