Authors and Artists for Young Adults on Emma Bull
Emma Bull is a storyteller with a love of language. From a pool of remembered people, places, and events, impressions of the things she sees around her, and the creations of her vivid imagination, she has fashioned a body of fiction praised for its creativity and appeal, particularly to teen science-fiction and fantasy buffs. With the publication of her first book, 1987's War for the Oaks, Bull has commanded critical attention and, according to Booklist contributor Carl Hays, "forged a stellar reputation for sharply original storytelling." Since beginning her career as a novelist, Bull has expanded into the picture-book genre, and has also collaborated with her husband and fellow writer Will Shetterly on screenplays.
